The Pacific Marine Science Alliance’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan outlines our bold vision for the future of marine science. Building on more than 50 years of success in coastal and marine research and education, we are committed to advancing our strategic priorities.

Revitalize the impact of our Partnership.

  • communicating and engaging Partners
  • providing a world-class facility for research and education
  • rebranding and relaunching WCUMSS as PMSA
  • undertaking a governance review and alignment, and
  • securing increased contributions of in-kind support

Jointly develop and deliver a renewed PMSA marine science curriculum.

Build large scale research programs that engage the national and international marine science community.

Build and establish a secure financial base that ensures on-going maintenance and future development of our resources and infrastructure.

Continue to engage Indigenous partners in meaningful projects of reconciliation and restoration.

Build a meaningful and rewarding work environment and advance the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion.

We will accomplish these goals and build momentum towards our vision by establishing a sustainable financial base, utilizing the strengths of our unique Partner, Community and Indigenous relationships and the talented researchers and students inspired by our vision.
